Is it just us, or does the summer always fly by too quickly?
Students are getting ready to go back to school next week, Starbucks has launched its Pumpkin Spice menu, and Thanksgiving and Halloween are just around the corner!
“Time flies” comes from the Latin Tempus Fugit, which first appeared in Book 3, line 284 of Virgil’s Georgics (it actually appears as fugit inreparabile tempus) and is a common motto used to this day. It really is amazing to think that this summer has “flown by”, but here at Enkel HQ, we have been working hard.
We have a jam-packed fall ahead of us, and as you may know, we’ve been focusing on getting in shape over the summer. We headed over to Ride Cycle Fitness in Yaletown to take a Spin Class together this month, and Molly, our instructor, was amazing – she challenged us but didn’t push too hard for the newbies who were experiencing it for the first time! Check out our sweaty and sore staff (and some friends!) after the class:
We have one more fitness challenge activity scheduled in early September – so stay tuned for how that goes. It’s a Boot Camp in David Lam Park – which many of us have never done before!
BACK TO SCHOOL
Students everywhere are getting ready to dust off their school bags and pack their lunch as they embark on a new school year.
We here at Enkel are always on the lookout on how we can learn and grow as professionals, and find tools that will help us help our clients!
One of our team members is attending a course next month through the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC, and we’re looking forward to her reporting back the things she learned while there.
Upcoming: The Small NonProfit Podcast
This month, our founder and CEO, Omar Visram, took part in an interview on The Small Nonprofit Podcast. The Small NonProfit Podcast, by Charity Village and The Good Partnership, focuses on practical and actionable expert guidance on how to run a small nonprofit. Every episode includes an interview with a nonprofit subject matter expert, discussing challenges and strategies to help smaller nonprofits thrive.
In this soon to be released interview, Omar chatted with the host, Cindy Wagman, about innovative ways that small nonprofits can operate their organization and how they can digitize their back office. Stay tuned to our interview on iTunes, or the Charity Village website to learn how you can digitize your nonprofit’s back office!
