February was a fairly quiet month as we gear up for more events in the upcoming year. We did, however, usher in the Lunar New Year with a team lunch and launch of a new blog series featuring video tutorials on how to migrate your data from desktop accounting software to cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks Online). Here’s what we’ve been up to this February:
Office Sharing with WagePoint CEO, Shrad Rao
Last Wednesday, we had a special guest from Halifax, visiting our Vancouver office. The CEO of WagePoint, Shrad Rao, visited our Vancouver office for an afternoon of learning and sharing. WagePoint is a fast and user-friendly online payroll software for small businesses and start-ups in the US and Canada. WagePoint is also one of the payroll solutions that we implement for our clients at Enkel for its simplicity and ease of use.
As an entrepreneur, Shrad shared the challenges that he faced when he first started the payroll company. Shrad’s main challenges came from navigating the Canadian payroll industry because of the regulations and the high level of competition with US payroll firms. Shrad also mentioned how payroll was more fragile than other business processes because it concerned employees getting paid the right amount at the right time.
We would like to thank Shrad for taking the time to share his valuable experiences with our team and we look forward to what WagePoint has installed for the upcoming year!

As cloud-based applications gain popularity amongst small businesses, we’ve observed a certain level of challenge faced by business owners or bookkeeping personnel when it came to data migration.
